BI for MEP contractors · HVAC · Plumbing · Electrical

Navigate by numbers,
not by feel.

SailVantage is your outsourced business intelligence department. We connect your field service, accounting and project systems into one Power BI view of job margin, technician performance, WIP and cash, so you can correct course before the margin drifts.

01 · The problem

Margin isn't lost in a storm. It's lost to drift.

You have solid software. What you don't have is one place where dispatch, accounting and project data agree. So the questions that matter most take a week of spreadsheets, or never get answered.

Hazard 01Late signal
BID MARGIN

Fade shows up at closeout

You learn a project lost money when it's too late to chase the change order or fix the labor overrun.

Hazard 02Manual WIP

WIP takes days to build

Your controller rebuilds the WIP schedule by hand every month, and the bonding agent still asks for it again.

Hazard 03Two truths
FSMACCT

Reports that don't agree

Tech leaderboards double-count split jobs. AP lands without a job tag. Every report starts an argument instead of ending one.

02 · Built around your stack

Three charted routes to one source of truth.

We've already modeled the native data of the six platforms MEP contractors rely on most, so your budget goes to answers, not to us learning your tools.

On Sage 100 Contractor or Excel job sheets? Talk to us anyway. The pipeline is built to add new sources. Findings come from our fictional demo company.

Discovery call

Your systems, your service-versus-project mix, and the one question you wish you could answer today.

02Week 1

Data audit

Read-only extracts, and a report of where your data disagrees with itself, with dollar amounts attached.

A clean warehouse and Power BI reports built around the decisions you actually make.

04Ongoing

Run & refine

Automated refreshes, monthly reviews, and new reports as your questions change.

05 · Soundings

The money hiding between your systems.

We built a full fictional contractor, Demo Mechanical Co. (about $20M a year, 11,600 service jobs, 48 projects), and ran it through all three routes. Here's what a typical integration surfaces.

An operator first, an analyst second. We know what a callback costs.

Jeremiah came to analytics from the field. He led an HVAC crew, built a 20-point NFPA-aligned inspection program, and now runs a property maintenance company serving multifamily buildings across five properties in New York.

He used his own operating data to raise work-order completion, cut callbacks and shrink response times. SailVantage brings that same operator-first approach to your shop, with a modern BI toolkit behind it.

09 · FAQ

Before you cast off.

Q.01Do we need to buy new software?

No. We work from the systems you already pay for. The Shop Profit Snapshot needs no licenses at all. Full builds typically run on Power BI, which costs a modest monthly fee per user.

Q.02Will you need write access to our systems?

No. We only need read-only access or exports. We never change data in your FSM, accounting or project management tools.

Q.03We're a small shop. Is this overkill?

That's why the Shop Profit Snapshot exists: a fixed-scope, one-week engagement that tells you what a billable hour really costs and which jobs and customers are actually profitable.

Q.04Our software isn't listed. Can you still help?

Usually, yes. The pipeline is designed to add new sources, and most platforms offer reports or an API we can work with. Tell us what you run on the discovery call.

Q.05Where are you based?

The Bronx, New York. We work remotely with contractors anywhere in the U.S., with a focus on the NY/NJ metro.
